Gianna was recently accepted into George Washington University on early decision and received their Presidential Academic Scholarship award! She plans to major in International Relations/Politics while pursuing a minor in Arabic. She credits Fontbonne for having a "tight-knit community" that enables students to thrive in areas that they wish to pursue. The small class sizes allowed her teachers to get to know her interests. Her AP United States History teacher, Mrs. Connolly, saw how much Gianna was interested in diplomacy and international relations - so she nominated her for a diplomacy program in Washington, D.C., which Gianna attended. Working side by side with ambassadors, she was able to fully grasp the goals that she had set for herself. She also started the Model UN club at Fontbonne. In her own words: "Fontbonne essentially made me grow intellectually and realize what my passion was."
