The Fire Scholarship is a free speech essay contest.
Eligibility: Open to juniors and seniors in U.S. high schools, including home-schooled students, as well as U.S. citizens attending schools overseas. Additional questions regarding eligibility may be emailed to
Students must submit an essay between 800 and 1,000 words on the provided topic below.
Deadline: FIRE must receive all entries by December 31, 2017. Winners will be announced by January 31, 2018.
Scholarship Prizes: One $10,000 first prize, one $5,000 second prize, and three $1,000 runner-up prizes will be awarded for the best essays. Four $500 winners will be chosen from the remaining entrants in a drawing.
Hispanic Heritage Month Essay Contest
Essay Topic: Choose a Latino, past or present, with whom you would choose to spend a day with, and explain why. Essay must be written in English.
Details: Contest is open to all Middle and High School students who attend school in either an Optimum or Suddenlink serviceable area. Essay must be 500 words or less, typed and double spaced, and written in English. Student name and essay title should appear on the top of every page. All submissions must include an official entry form and can be submitted online, mailed, or e-mailed. For more details see the official contest rules.

Molloy College Freshmen Scholarships
Molloy Scholarship Program – full tuition scholarship
Application deadline: December 15th.
Dominican Academic Scholarships – partial tuition scholarships, ranging from $4,000 to $20,000 are based on academic achievement.
Application deadline: March 1st.
Molloy College Community Service Award – partial tuition awards ranging from $500 to $5,000 per year awarded to entering full-time freshmen who demonstrates a commitment to their community.

Fine Arts Scholarships- Awards ranging from partial to full tuition scholarships for entering full-time freshmen who are adjudged to have exceptional talent, or have achieves proficiency in art or music. Qualifications are demonstrated through audition, portfolio or other documented experience.
Funded Scholarship- A large numbers of funded tuition scholarships are available for entering freshmen. Eligible candidates will be identified by the Office of Admissions.

Assumption College Light the Way Scholarship
Assumption’s Light the Way Scholarship is awarded to incoming students who utilize their abilities to Light the Way for others. Whether its community service to help people in need, innovation to improve society or volunteering to heal our planet, this scholarship recognizes and supports students who positively impact the world in their own meaningful way.
In 300 words or less, explain what Light the Way means to you when considering the contributions you have made to your community?
A $25,000/year scholarship awarded to up to 50 students impacting the world in a positive way.
