Sister Dolores F. Crepeau, CSJ

Principal, Fontbonne Hall Academy

St. Francis College honors Sister Dolores F. Crepeau, CSJ, for her life-long dedication and commitment to education. Principal of Fontbonne Hall Academy since 2005, Sister Dolores has been marked as someone truly dedicated to her students, seeing a school’s primary obligation as their care and well-being. Never comfortable in her office, Sister Dolores is all around the school engaging students and faculty in the teaching and learning process. In her work, Sister Dolores has brought the school to new heights in student achievement and in student service to the larger community. Her students are inspired to work hard and to understand more fully the role that God plays in their lives. In doing so, Sister Dolores continues the distinguished record that has marked Fontbonne since its establishment by the Sisters of St. Joseph in 1937.

Her success as leader of Fontbonne Hall Academy follows an impressive career in her own studies and educational leadership. A graduate of St. Joseph’s college and holder of graduate and professional degrees from Fordham University, Sister Dolores is a licensed counselor and hypnotherapist, offering her service to adolescents and adults who experience academic and life skills difficulties related to depression, family issues or abuse. Those who know her see a tireless and impressive force for good in all that Sister Dolores does.

Schools such as St. Michael Academy, Bishop Kearney High School, St. Thomas Aquinas School, Our Lady of Perpetual Help High School and St. Francis Xavier School all have been served by Sister Dolores as a teacher, counselor or administrator. In all of these roles she has left a record of achievement that has been widely recognized. She has been honored as a teacher who makes a difference by the New York Times and by the Diocese of Brooklyn for 35 years of catechetical service. We see her greatest honor in the young women who graduate from Fontbonne Hall and live wonderful lives as members of the St. Francis College Community.
