Course Description

This course in Catholic Morality, Your Life in Christ, conforms to the Doctrinal Elements of a Curriculum Framework for the Development of Catechetical Materials for Young People of High School Age, published by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, Washington, D.C., July, 2008. This framework is imbued with an apologetical approach designed “to help young people develop necessary skills to answer or address the real questions that they face in life and in their faith.” The course has a two-fold purpose: first and foremost, it is to help students understand that it is only through Christ that they can fully live out God’s plans for their lives. Students are to learn the moral concepts and precepts that govern the lives of Christ’s disciples. Secondly, in keeping with the articulated mission statement and beliefs of Fontbonne Hall Academy: this course will enable the student to recognize her potential “to become an ethical and moral force in society.”
