The following updated New York City Law will allow all parents, guardians and individuals to obtain a copy of their children's immunization records. This will be especially useful for seniors who are required to submit updated immunization records for college registration. In addition, schools are required by law to keep medical records a certain number of years before disposing of them. This new law gives all individuals access to their records over a longer period of time.
NYC has now granted access to parents, guardians and individuals to the Citywide Immunization Registry.
A new public website, My Vaccine Record. will allow members of the public to view and print their own and/or their children’s CIR record. Access is being rolled out initially only for holders of the New York City identification card, IDNYC, which all New York City residents can apply for online at www.nyc.gov/IDNYC.
