Alexandra E. Petri is on the Live team at The New York Times creating and executing breaking news coverage. She has covered some of the biggest news stories, including the coronavirus pandemic, the Surfside condo collapse, and the Olympics. Prior to joining The Times, Alexandra was a writer at National Geographic covering culture and global issues. She has lived in five countries and reported from Europe, Africa, Latin America and Australia. Alexandra is a 2009 graduate of The Pennsylvania State University and a 2005 graduate of Fontbonne.
