EPISCOPAL PRIEST, STEWARD SPECIALIST, PASSIONATE YOGI

 

The Reverand Canon Suzanne M. Culhane, Fontbonne class of 1991, serves as Canon for Stewardship in the Episcopal Diocese of Long Island, supporting 130 parishes and eight mission organizations in funding God’s mission of peace and unity. She also serves as the Pastor at St. Philip’s Church in Dyker Heights, regularly conducting liturgy, spiritual teaching, sacramental and outreach ministry. With expertise in counseling religious and social service organizations, she teaches organizational development and leadership capacity-building across the country. She regularly teaches at the Mercer School of Theology and with the Consortium of Endowed Episcopal Parishes. She is a champion for Women’s causes and recently founded the Tampon Trunk program to bring tangible care to women and girls in need through the supply of period products. 

Reverand Culhane seeks to live an integrated life grounded in prayer and meditation, and enjoys praising God with diverse forms of worship. Her discipleship includes decades of study of classical ballet and holistic yoga, with current enrollment in Rod Stryker’s ParaYoga Master Training program. She is a native New Yorker and frequently meets the Divine on the streets of Brooklyn and on the yoga mat. She passionately believes that giving is an act of worship and delights in building God’s Kingdom through transformational stewardship.
